Faculty

Darrell Kefentse, PhD

Senior Lecturer

Current Research

Dr. Kefentse specializes in global and regional studies. His teaching and research fields include Transatlantic History, African American Studies, Ethiopia, World History, and European History. His research incorporates the dynamic relationship between Anglo-Saxon Europeans, Africans, and those of the African diaspora.  By tracing the founding of the North American colonies and the consequences of colonization, transatlantic migration, and the transatlantic slave trade, his research seeks to reveal the foundational element that created the need for African Americans to conceptualize Ethiopia as a significant point of reference in their struggles.
